Synonym.no is primarily an editorially developed language resource. The content on the website is produced and maintained by our editorial team. If we use external sources in individual cases, this is clearly indicated on the relevant page.
Scrabble Word List (NSF)
We use the NSF word list as the basis for our Scrabble word list. This list is a separate content element and is not a general source for definitions, synonyms, or linguistic explanations in other parts of the service.
External Sources That May Be Cited
In some cases, we may rely on open language resources such as Wiktionary for background information (for example, etymology, inflection, or language variants). When such information is used, we cite the source explicitly.
How We Create Content
The editorial team develops content with support from internal tools and machine learning-based aids. The tools are used as work support for structuring, suggestions, and consistency checks, among other things. The editorial team quality assures the content before publication.
Quality Assurance
Changes and new content undergo a combination of: automatic checks (consistency, duplicates, format, and language rules) editorial review and adjustment ongoing improvements based on feedback and usage patterns

We respect license terms for external sources. Where external material is used, we provide attribution and license information in accordance with the terms.
